Drip campaigns can be used to send a series of emails to a contact or a group of contacts over a set period of time.


Navigate to Email Marketing -> Drip Campaigns in order to view existing campaigns or create a new drip campaign.


The drip campaign page will show all drip campaigns that you have access to.  This might include campaigns created by your marketing team (indicated in the "Created By" column).  This page will also indicate how many leads are assigned to a drip campaign, the number of active leads (where the campaign is still in progress), the number that have completed the campaign, and unsubscribe stats.






Creating a Drip Campaign


To create a drip campaign, first click the "+Create" button within the Email Marketing -> Drip Campaigns menu.


You will then choose a campaign name (visible only within Total Expert) and a campaign type.  The two types available are:

Incremental Days - This sends emails within the campaign at increments based on when the campaign was assigned to a contact.  If you specify an email to go out on "day 5", this means that the email will send five days after the drip campaign was assigned to that contact.  Day 1 is the first day that can be chosen and will send an email the day after the drip campaign was assigned to that contact.

Date Specific - This allows you to schedule the email within the drip campaign for a specific date for all contacts on the campaign rather than choosing increments.


Note: Drip campaigns queue to send out at 2300 UTC time.  If a campaign is assigned to a contact after this period, it will skip the following day.  Example: if you assign a campaign with a day 1 email to a contact at noon CST on Tuesday, the day 1 email will send on Wednesday.  If you assign a campaign with a day 1 email to a contact at 9pm CST on Tuesday, the day 1 email will send on Thursday.


To select an email to be included in the campaign, click the check box to the left of the email.  Then enter a value for the email in the "On Day" column.  You can also view a preview of the email template from this page and you can also use the search bar to search for email templates within your account.


When you are finished building the campaign, click "Save Campaign" at the top of the page.








Assigning a Drip Campaign


There are multiple ways to assign a drip campaign to a contact or multiple contacts.


Assign From the Drip Campaign Page


You can assign a drip-campaign to a group of contacts from the Email Marketing -> Drip Campaigns page.  To do this, select the campaign you wish to assign and then click "View Campaign."  Then click "Assign to Group" at the top of the page, select the group you wish to assign the campaign to, and click "Assign Groups."


Note: This method of assignment assigns the campaign to each contact within the group at the time of assignment.  If a contact is later added to the selected group, the campaign will need to be assigned again.  You can assign a campaign to a group multiple times without creating duplicate campaigns for contacts that were in the group previously.  This means that you can perform this action of assignment when new contacts are added to the group and previous contacts will not receive duplicate campaign emails.







Assign From the Contacts Page


You can assign a drip campaign to a contact or a selection of contacts from the contacts page.  Navigate to Leads & Contacts -> Contacts.  Then select one or more contacts and click "Actions" and "+ Add an Email Campaign."  You can also click the ellipses next to a single contact to add a campaign for that contact.  If the campaign is co-branded with a lender and an agent user, the co-marketing partner to appear on the campaign can be chosen here.






Assigning From Within a Contact Record


You can assign a drip campaign to a single contact by entering their contact record, finding the "Email Campaigns" section of their record, and clicking "Add Campaign."  If the campaign is co-branded with a lender and an agent user, the co-marketing partner to appear on the campaign can be chosen here.







Viewing Which Drip Campaigns are Assigned to a Contact


You can view which drip campaigns are currently assigned to a contact by entering the contact record and finding the "Email Campaigns" section within the contact record.


This section indicates the name of each campaign, when it was assigned to the contact, and if the campaign is active, inactive, or if the contact unsubscribed.  An active campaign is a campaign that is still ongoing.  An inactive campaign is a campaign where the contact has received the last email of the campaign.
