How to Create a Loan Import Data Spreadsheet

1. Download the Loan Import Template (located at the bottom of this article). 
2. Input the required and necessary information (see table below for in-depth column information). 
3. Double check your file for any typos or spelling errors.
   • Note: Total Expert is not responsible for any formatting errors. 
4. Save your spreadsheet as a CSV file. 
5. Send your file to Support@TotalExpert.com or use the chat widget.

Data Requirements

Minimum requirements for loan data to be imported:

• Loan Number

Note
Our process for generating fictitious loan numbers uses 15 digit numbers generated randomly

1. Determine how many loan numbers you need to generate.
2. Copy and Paste the URL below into a notepad file (or any other text editor you use) and enter in the number of loan numbers by replacing " ENTER_NUMBER_HERE"

3. Paste into your web browser.
4. Copy and paste into the excel file. 
   • Note: Make sure to set the data type for the column in Excel is set as numbers without decimals.

Minimum requirements for associated parties (borrowers, co-borrowers, buyers agent, seller's agent, settlement agent) to be imported

• First name
• Last name
• At least 1 of the following (to satisfy dedupe rules) to avoid importer skipping records:
  • Email
  • Phone (cell, office, home)
  • Full address
    • address, city, state, zip

The following fields are not required, but highly recommended

• Loan amount
• Loan rate
• Funded date (without it, the imported loans will show in the user's loan pipeline)
• Loan program
• Loan purpose
• Loan status
• Loan type

Duplicated Loans

• Loans that do not already exist in your database will be imported as new loan.
• Duplicate loans will not be imported into your database.
• Deduplication will occur if the same loan number is used.
