How to Change Contact Owners

This action cannot be undone! 


Note

You can now transfer and change ownership of contacts that are associated with loans. 

  • All contacts that are associated with that loan from the previous user's account are brought over for the new user to maintain. 
  • The borrower of the loan and all other participants of the loan are transferred. 
    • Ex: If there is one contact with five loan participants, transferring creates six new contacts. 
  • All the existing groups that the contacts are in are maintained. Those groups are also transferred to the new account. 


  1. On the left navigation, click Leads & Contacts > Contacts.
  2. Use the search bar to quickly find your contact(s). 
    • Search by name, email, or phone number.
  3. Check the box next to the contact's name. Choose all that apply. 
  4. Click on the blue Actions button > Admin actions > Change owner
    • A pop-up box appears.


If the Contact Has Loans

  1. Choose if you want to transfer loans for the contact by selecting Yes or No
    • If no is chosen, it leaves the state of the contact in the existing account and that account maintains the relation of that loan.
  2. Add an optional group to associated the contact with (optional). This is a newly formed group. 
  3. Click Next
  4. Use the search field to choose a new contact owner.
  5. Click Next
  6. Click Confirm and Change Owner when finished. 




If the Contact Does Not Have Loans

  1. Type in the new user's name or search by clicking into the field. 
  2. Click Next
  3. Choose if you would like to share the contact with yourself.
  4. Click Next
  5. Review and click Confirm and Change Owner to confirm.
