How to Resize Your Image to 2:3 Ratio

📸 Starting with a Square Image?

Square images (like Instagram photos) have a 1:1 ratio. When resized to 2:3, the tool will either crop the sides or add space. We recommend letting the tool crop it slightly—just make sure your face or main subject is centered so nothing important gets cut off.

Choose one of the options below to resize:

Option 1: Use Your Computer's Built-In Tools

💻 For Mac:
  1. Right-click on your photo and select Open With > Preview.
  2. Click Tools in the menu bar, then select Adjust Size.
  3. Make sure "Scale proportionally" is checked.
  4. Enter a height of 900 pixels (the width will auto-adjust to 600 pixels).
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click File > Export As and save as JPG or PNG.
🪟 For Windows:
  1. Right-click on your photo and select Open with > Paint.
  2. Click the Resize button in the Home tab.
  3. Make sure "Maintain aspect ratio" is checked, then change the unit to Pixels.
  4. Enter a width of 600 pixels (the height will auto-adjust to 900 pixels).
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click File > Save As and choose JPEG or PNG format.

Option 2: Use Free Online Tools

 Canva Image Resizer
  1. Go to canva.com/features/image-resizer

  4. Click Download to save
 Adobe Express Image Resizer

  2. Click Select image and upload your photo

Common Issues & Solutions

 My square image crops weirdly

Why this happens: The system expects a 2:3 ratio (taller than wide). Square images (1:1 ratio) get automatically cropped to fit, which can cut off important parts of your photo.

How to fix it:Resize your image to a 2:3 aspect ratio using one of the free tools below:
  • Mac: Use built-in Preview app (see "How to Resize Your Image" section)
  • Windows: Use built-in Paint app (see "How to Resize Your Image" section)
  • Online: Use Canva or Adobe Express
Common resized dimensions: 600 × 900 pixels or 300 × 450 pixels

❌ File is too large (exceeds 5 MB)

How to fix it:Compress your image:
  • Use free online compressors like TinyPNG or ImageOptim
  • Reduce the image dimensions (try 600 × 900 pixels)
  • Save as .jpg instead of .png to reduce file size
Aim for the recommended 50 kB for fastest processing.

❌ Image won't upload (unsupported file type)

Accepted formats: .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .gif

How to fix it:Convert your image to one of the supported formats:
  • Windows: Use Paint to open and "Save As" in a supported format
  • Mac: Use Preview to open and export as JPEG or PNG
  • Online: Use free converters like CloudConvert or Zamzar

❌ Image is blurry or low quality

Why this happens: The original image may have low resolution (below 300 DPI) or too many compression artifacts.

How to fix it:
  • Start with a high-resolution image (at least 600 × 900 pixels)
  • Ensure it's saved at 300 DPI
  • Avoid over-compressing when reducing file size
  • Use .png format if quality matters more than file size
