In August, we're launching two AI Assistants that will change how lenders work: the AI Scenario Assistant and the AI SMS Assistant. They stand on a foundation we've been building over the past year: Customer IQ, Lead Management, Rate Quoting, and Engage SMS. That connected platform is what makes these assistants genuinely powerful and what will give loan officers a new edge over their competition.
Earlier this week, Joe Welu took the stage at HousingWire's AI Summit to feature this work and declare the end of the CRM era. His message: the lenders who will win aren't just using better tools; they're operating on a fundamentally different system.
In addition to our innovation with AI, we continue to release updates to our Lead Management capabilities and material enhancements to Journeys and content. Be sure to check them out in the full Release Notes.
AI that works the way loan officers work.
The AI Scenario Assistant monitors an LO's pipeline for refinance and purchase opportunities, prices them through their connected pricing engine, and delivers a branded consumer presentation with draft outreach ready to review and send. The scenario selection isn't generic; if a borrower is six years into a 30-year fixed, the assistant prices the 20- and 25-year options, not a menu of unrelated products. It's context-aware pricing automation, and it runs continuously across an LO's entire database without any manual initiation.
The AI SMS Assistant extends that same intelligence into every borrower conversation. With nine purpose-built use cases: Rate Alert, Credit Inquiry, New Lead Purchase, New Lead Refi, HELOC, Aged Pre-Approval, Firm Offer of Credit, Periodic Mortgage Review, and In-Process Update; admins configure the right conversation for each workflow and the assistant handles the thread. When a borrower is ready to meet, the assistant checks the LO's calendar and books the appointment directly in the SMS conversation. Three autonomy modes (Autopilot, Assist, and Disabled) let organizations deploy at whatever level of AI independence they're ready for.
Together with the success clients have been experiencing with AI Sales Assistant, Total Expert's Customer Operating System is now covering the full range of borrower relationship moments where AI-driven outreach makes a measurable difference.
The platform underneath keeps getting stronger.
The AI capabilities land on top of a platform that sees meaningful updates. Lead Management Custom Fields bring the same flexibility as Contacts and Loans — admins can now create, report on, and automate off any data field that matters to their business. The Loan Detail Flyout Panel in Pipeline Views gives LOs immediate loan context (and the ability to act on it) without navigating away from their list. Plus, don't miss the full list of updates for Journeys and Content in the "Small Changes. Big Impact" section in the Release Notes.
A new EPN integration rounds out the month. Cotality (formerly CoreLogic, the largest property data provider in the US) brings home shopping signals, refinance and HELOC propensity scores, and full property intelligence directly into Total Expert as Journey-triggering Insights. When a past customer walks into an open house, the system knows. The right outreach fires automatically.
Where we're headed.
The AI capabilities available in August represent the beginning of a broader transformation in how Total Expert puts intelligence to work for loan officers. The AI Scenario Assistant and AI SMS Assistant will expand in scope and capability with each release: more use cases, data-driven conversations, and deeper integration across the platform.
Watch for additional improvements to Pipeline Views (with new "and/or" options for filtering), a new "Is Email Unsubscribed" field available for Pipeline View, Enrichment & Insights settings, and Campaign Builder, and locking content blocks for Email Builder later in August. And, our new AI Data Assistant is approaching general availability with additional enhancements in flight driven by our beta participants. AI Data Assistant will give admins plain-language access to their Total Expert data without building a report or submitting a request.
More broadly, we're investing heavily in the connective tissue of the platform — the data infrastructure, the relationship intelligence, and the integrations that make every AI action more accurate and every LO workflow more complete. The goal isn't more features. It's a platform that knows your borrowers as well as your best loan officers do, and acts on that knowledge at a scale no individual LO ever could.
That's the direction. August is a significant step in it.
