Bulk SMS Sends with Engage Opt-In allows you to send an SMS message to multiple contacts at once. Messages can only be sent to contacts who have opted in to receive SMS communications. If selected contacts have not yet opted in, you can send them an opt-in request before delivering your message.
Before You Begin
Confirm the following before sending a bulk SMS:
- Your user account has Engage SMS active.
- The contacts you want to message are available in your Contacts list.
Send a Bulk SMS
To send a bulk SMS to opted-in contacts:
- Navigate to Leads & Contacts > Contacts.
- Select the checkbox next to each contact you want to message.
- Select Actions > Send SMS.
- Review the summary screen. It shows how many contacts will receive the message, how many are ineligible due to communication preferences, and how many require opt-in before they can receive the message. Click Next to continue.
- On the opt-in screen, review the list of contacts who have not yet opted in. Clear the checkbox next to any contacts you do not want to send an opt-in request to. Click Send SMS Opt-In Request(s) to send the requests.
Note: To skip the opt-in step, select Continue without sending SMS Opt-In Request(s). If you bypass this step, the message will not be sent to the contacts on the opt-in list.
- Enter your message and click Send to deliver the bulk SMS to all eligible contacts.
After sending, each message is logged on the individual contact record. You can verify delivery status and opt-in activity by reviewing the contact's activity stream.
